KODE

CODE is one of the largest art museums and shows art and design, craft and antique artifacts. CODE spread over four buildings along the small Lungegårdsvann in Bergen.

CODE 1 shows art and design from the last 500 years. There is also the museum's temporary exhibitions, and silver tax - showing beautiful objects in gold and silver made in Bergen over 500 years. CODE 1 also houses china collection, which the past is closed due to a burglary.

CODE 2 are viewing spot for the museum's temporary exhibitions and has a special section for Contemporary Art (CODE contemporary).

In CODE 3 shows a sample of the total of 963 items in Rasmus Meyer Collection. It also Bergens new Munch museum masterpieces like jealousy, woman in three stages, Melancholy and Evening on Karl Johan. The building also houses significant works of JC Dahl, Adolph Tidemand, Hans Gude, Nikolai Astrup, Christian Krohg, Henrik Sørensen and Harriet Backer and Bergen interior from the 1700s and a wall and takdekorert rokokkorom, Blumenthalrommet.

In CODE 4 can do an art historical walk through a comprehensive permanent exhibition including works by Picasso, Klee and JC Dahl. On the ground floor you will find in addition KunstLab, art museum for children and young people, and a large exhibition of Nikolai Astrup Collection.
